Pradeep Gupta is a Technocrat and an ex-Bureaucrat. A graduate in Electrical Engineering (1983) from NIT Allahabad with PGDM (1997) from MDI Gurgaon besides has done several specialized short term courses viz in Strategic Affairs from NESA Centre of National Defence University Washington; in Counter terrorism strategies from Asia Pacific Centre for Strategic Studies (APCSS) of US Pacific Command at Hawaii US ;  in  Innovation & Economic Development from HKS, Harvard; in Leadership Skills from Judge Business School Cambridge Univ. and many more.

He is a Founder of a startup think factory ‘Security, Peace and Policy Initiatives’ (SAPI) besides mentoring several young Techies in New Age Technologies of Artificial Intelligence, Virtual & Augmented Reality etc. SAPI is working in areas of absorption of Defence Transfer of Technology, improvement of Border Management and Public Policy.

Pradeep Gupta has worked is several Key assignments in the  Government of India (GoI) namely as PS to The President of India ( 2012-2015); Joint Secretary MHA ( 2015-2018); OSD (Indigenisation etc) Dept of Def Prodn ( 2018) ; Sr. Regional Director Marketing (Def Exports etc.) in OFB under MOD ( 2019-2020); OSD/PS to Hon Finance Minister ( 2009-2012); OSD/PS to External Affairs Minister ( 2006-2009) ; OSD/PS to Defence Minister ( 2004-2006); Govt Nominee Director on the Board of DPSU Hindustan Shipyard Ltd,  etc. Besides he has worked in the Manufacturing Plants of Arty Guns and Arty Shells of the Ordnance Fy Board (MoD) wherein he played key role in establishing manufacture process of 155 mm Shells , which was of big support in wake of  Kargil conflict for which he was awarded Best Production Manager Award.  He was instrumental in formulating Indigenisation Policy in DDP( MoD)  besides taking  up several Key initiatives in Border Management like Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System ( CIBMS) , induction of Space Technology in all areas of Border Management etc.

As part of Professional activities Mr Gupta  is fellow of Institution of Engineers and Member of Indian Institution of Plant Engineers.

As part of his official assignments he had long association with Late Pranab Mukherjee as his Key Aide when he was Hon President as well as Hon Minister.  Mr Gupta assisted Hon Minister in handling  affairs of various  Group of Ministers; Cabinet Committees; several Other Groups /Committees etc.
